Before high resolution video games, before handheld gaming systems and amazingly rendered fantasy worlds enjoyed by players joined by the vastness of the internet there were board games and role player books. If, like me, you were a child of the ’80’s then you’ll likely remember Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson’s Fighting Fantasy books.
The first ever volume, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain was published in 1982 and this year will see the thirtieth anniversary of the series. Single player stories, readers would make decisions and choices as they read to complete a task in the fictional world of Titan.
Now, film-maker Sean Riley wants to tell the story behind the books and the men who went on to sell over 16 million copies of their books. Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson, without a doubt had a huge influence on the world of fantasy gaming and literature and now the fans can help to see the documentary realised.
