Many thanks again to all those who have nominated so far. I apologize for the wait since the last update which was due to technical issues – I know as the list gets longer and more and more nominations come in, you want to see the updates as regularly as possible.
Members have until 11th January to get their nominations in and can find all the rules and regulations of what to do here.
Here follows a list of items that have received at least one eligible nomination to date. It’s getting longer, but just because a title is on the list, it doesn’t make it safe. We’re looking for the top 5 in each category, and every nomination counts.
Publishers and artists – please note I have included what seemed the best available links so that people can see see the nominated artwork from here. I am happy to make changes to these links if you feel there is a better location. Please get in touch via awards@bsfa.co.uk

Spaces! Thanks to my colleagues for pointing out that two items in the Best Novel list are not digital-only publications as I had thought, but available from US publishers as trade paperbacks. Unfortunately this makes Samuel R Delaney’s Through the Valley of the Nest of Spiders and Carolyn Ives Gilman’s Ison of the Isles ineligible as per our current rules. I’m sorry to disappoint these writers, their publishers and their fans and nominators.
I have also moved Eyepennies by Mike O’Driscoll to Best Short Fiction as the 17,000 word-length makes it a novella.
